The British Wheel of YogaReturn to All Projects or Web projects
Having a national network of over 4,000 qualified yoga teachers it was understandable that their old site gravitated towards teachers and tutors, but the BWY had much more to offer and wanted to build on those foundations and include areas on the site that would be useful for those people who were thinking about joining a yoga class.
The main crux of the brief was to have clear points of entry for the different audiences using the website; people who are new to yoga, members, teachers, those that are training with the BWY and tutors and to feature lots more imagery.
Along with Jeanne Rae the Marketing Co-ordinator at the BWY, I think we achieved this!
The new website not only addresses issues that members had with the national website but along the way more functionality was added to the website to allow the site to not only work for the BWY but to add further benefits for its members.
The most fundamental additions were adding the ability for teachers to add the details of their local classes to the Find a Local Class section and to also add a little bit about themselves along with a picture to their online biography allowing the general public to have an idea about whose class they would be attending.
Another popular addition was having more advertising options for BWY Tutors to be able to advertise their courses online. They are now able to make more of a feature of their advert and choose when and for how long their advert appears.
These additions along with dedicated areas for tutors, more prominence for the BWY Regions, yoga posture examples, what to expect when attending classes and a complete overhaul of the content has received a very warm welcome from the membership and some excellent feedback.
